Nine Habits for Highly Effective Morning

Word of the Day: Habit

A continual often involuntary or unconscious inclination to perform an activity acquired through frequent repetition.

Everyone's schedule is different and, on this blog, I will get to share with you what has been working for myself at this stage of my life. It is not my intention to tell you that my schedule will work you but you can always grab what could be applied to your life. One thing that I have noticed in life is that every single human is different and that every time I visit someone I get amazed about the little or big things that I could learn from other ladies. Every single lady possesses something special that is God-given and that is called "talents".

Ephesians 4:11

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

Not everyone will have the same schedule but if you are a lady we have something in common and is that we are the ones in charge of our homes. The home that the Lord has entrusted us to have along with our families and if you are a single lady or a single mom your home or your room still important in the eyes of the Lord. So please don't feel left out if you don't own a house or if your house is tiny, you can also make wonders with what the Lord has provided.

This blog is about the morning schedule and I know it will be hard for someone who works 40 hours a week to follow this schedule but please take what works for you and enjoy your morning. Also, please keep in mind that these suggestions are not in order.

#1. Spend some time with the Lord: This is something I personally struggle with because I don't like to do this in a rush. I have to schedule this time so that I could read God's word and I also have a set couch where I sit down so that I could concentrate.

Psalm 143:8

Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

#2. Start your morning by getting up early: By getting up early I mean 5:00 am or 6:00 am. For the most part, I get up at 6:00 am if not earlier. Let me confess to you that my bed feels very good at that time but I am the type of person that as soon as open my eyes my brain starts thinking about the pile of things I have to do.

Proverbs 31:15

She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

#3. Have a daily agenda or a to-do list: This is something that I just implemented in daily routine. I used to consider myself a person who was able to multitask but those days are over. This year I bought my self a calendar notepad in which I write every single thing that needs to be accomplished each day. I don't use my phone for this type of planning and the reason for that is because it was too distracting. Following this method has made me more productive and accountable to myself. I do have a layback day and that is on Saturdays when we get to go out or just chill, watch tv or sleep in.

Proverbs 16:3

Commit thy works unto theLord, and thy thoughts shall be established.

Proverbs 21:5

The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.

#4. Eat a healthy breakfast: This is also something that I just recently implemented this year. All these years I had always thought that my family came first and me last. That is a thought that I have had for so many years and I had applied it to different areas of my life. Honestly, that is so wrong because I also have to take care of myself in order to be productive for my family. So, this year I decided that I was going to eat a full breakfast with eggs, a slice of bread with lots of grains, goat cheese on my egg, and some basil leaves plus a glass of orange juice. For the most part, you will see me eating this breakfast or I will occasionally change it on the weekends to pancakes or to a traditional Latino breakfast. What we never eat in this house is cereal or drink coffee. Eating a healthy meal has helped me with my allergies and has also helped me to become more productive.

1 Corinthians 10:31

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

#5. Start a laundry load: Laundry is something that happens in my house from Monday through Thursday because I hate long laundry days. I usually do 2 loads per day and one of the things that has helped me to be more productive is that I only have 2 laundry hampers in a house of five bedrooms. The days when each room had a laundry hamper were over many years ago. My two hampers consist of one for all colors and the other for my husband's work clothes, we don't mix his work clothes with ours due to him working in the construction field. So, every morning after everyone takes a shower we all walk to the laundry room to dump our dirty clothes and that is how it has been for so many years.

#6. Do your bed: I am a freak when it comes to this topic I make my bed the moment I get up and I would lay on my bed during the day only if I am really sick. Which means that my bed has to be fully made all day long. Pick a color for your bed that way you are encouraged to make your bed every day. Get rid of any clutter that you may have in your bedroom. Your room is a place where you come at the end of the day and it should feel as if you were staying at a 5-star hotel. Remember your room is where you pamper yourself with comfortable linen and pillows. Also, keep in mind the different seasons which means that if you have drastic summers and winters the sheets need to be changed according to the weather.

#7. Shower yourself in the mornings: Some people take night showers and just like I said before I am not here to change you and to change your schedule just grab what is applicable or beneficial to you. Our bodies do sweat at night which means that our bodies will have a smell and that smell is not going to be fresh. Don't be doing all your shores with your pajamas on, get ready, put some makeup on once in a while. Don't let your husband find you in your pajamas when he comes back from work. Men see beautiful women every time they go out, please don't discourage your husband by finding you in your nightgown at 3:00 pm.

1 Corinthians 6:19

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

#8. Maintain a clean and presentable house: You as a lady take advantage of this opportunity that the Lord has given you. You get to set the tone and style of your home and please don't take it for granted. The home is where our children and our husbands come to relax at the end of the day it is like our little heaven here on earth. The home is where we make memories, where we cry, where we argue and yes, no home is perfect. At the end of the day, each human needs a place to rest their head and it does not matter if is a garage that you are renting but keep it cozy and make the best out of it.

Colossians 3:23

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

#9. Set a goal to finish your routine by noon: This is why is so important to establish a schedule so that you can have an effective day. This means that in order for you to have an effective day you need to start with your morning routine. I believe that if you follow a few of these steps you will be able to be done by noon and still have time to take a 30-minute nap to regain the energy for the next hours when the children and the husband come back to the house. As for myself, I usually don't take naps I use this time to write on the blog or to record a YouTube video.

1 Corinthians 14:40

Let all things be done decently and in order.

Conclusion: As you can see my schedule might be different than yours I am at the stage where I don't have babies anymore, but I still have a home that I have to love. One day it'll just be my husband and me and I am looking forward to those days.

have added some verses down below for those who are not sure if heaven is your future home. Please share with me if you accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior through this post. I will be happy to rejoice with you!

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 10:9–13
